Affiliate Programs for Beginners

There’s no question that when it comes to making money online, affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to “test the waters” to learn how to market online. In this short blog post, I want to provide you with some of the best affiliate programs for beginners to get you up and going making consistent money online.

When I first started my journey as an affiliate marketer, I was simply overwhelmed by the vast array of information that was available on the internet. Everywhere I looked online, there were affiliates trying to either sale me a product or vendors looking to utilize me to promote their product.

I was simply confused.

With so many programs to choose from, how does a newbie determine the best networks to join to get started in. While there are several programs out there, there are a number of affiliate programs for beginners that are best suited for the novice marketer.

But, you may ask, how does one determine which affiliate programs to choose?

Why can’t I choose all of them?

Which there’s nothing wrong with signing up with all, but generally speaking to keep the confusion down, you only want to join a limited number of these programs when you’re first starting out in the affiliate marketing space.

Types of Affiliate Programs for Beginners

As stated earlier, there are a number of affiliate programs out there on the Internet. But which are the best to choose when starting out?

Promoting other vendor’s products online comes in various forms and methods. The key to being successful in affiliate marketing is finding the right niche to target, whether you’re going for the “make money online” or the “health and beauty” niche, it’s important to know what niche to promote which helps to ascertain who your targeted customer will be.

Affiliate marketing can be addressed under various business models depending what best interests you and your targeted niche.

digital marketing

Digital marketing is a common affiliate marketing business model that many individuals utilize to get started online.

Digital marketing is promoting products that can be instantly downloaded once a customer either opts into your list or purchases the intended product.

These types of affiliate programs for beginners are perfect for the novice because they require no overhead in the storing of physical products and provides your subscriber and/or customer with instant access to their purchase.

There are a number of these types of program out there.

The go-to affiliate programs for digital marketing are sites such as Clickbank, JVZoo, and WarriorPlus.

All three of these sites are perfect for those looking to embark on affiliate marketing and should consider these heavily when making that decision on whether to pursue this business model.

I started off on Clickbank promoting products in niches such as business opportunities and in the health and wellness niche. Both of these niches are considered EVERGREEN meaning the products found in these niches are highly sought after year round as opposed to being seasonal.

These are really great affiliate programs for the beginner and should get you making sales and earning subscribers fairly quickly.

Another form of affiliate marketing is dropshipping.

Dropshipping has been around for years and will continue to be a fantastic way to make money online. Dropshipping is where you promote physical products by other vendors to make a medium to large profit margin when the item is sold.

There are a number of vendors out there looking to have affiliates promote their physical products.

The beauty about dropshipping which makes it a great affiliate program for beginners is the fact that affiliates aren’t required to store these products at their home or office.

All products are stored with the vendor at their warehouse and are only shipped out when you make a sale.

Now there is a level of know-how when graduating to the dropshipping business model because you will be required to create your own online store using sites such as Weebly, Woocommerce or the most popular site for creating dropshipping stores, Shopify.

Sign up for Shopify and receive a special two-week free trial. But again, I would recommend this to someone who has some experience in online marketing and generating traffic first.

You can also sign up to become an Amazon affiliate to promote various products found on Amazon. This affiliate program is great for people who want to make money online while leveraging the millions who visit Amazon each day.

CPA marketing is another great way novices can get into the affiliate marketing space. CPA stands for Cost Per Action. CPA marketing has proven to be a great way to make money quickly as an affiliate marketer.

Although, the commissions are not nearly as great as opposed to digital marketing or dropshipping, CPA marketing has it’s benefits.

But unlike digital marketing, you can make money using CPA marketing just by helping the vendor acquire email subscribers or getting them to do a certain action, such as downloading an application on their phone.

If done properly, you can make good money using CPA affiliate marketing.

    • Nick,
Thanks for responding. Amazon is really great for affiliate marketing. The one drawback to Amazon is that you won’t be able to capitalize on all the traffic that Amazon provides by getting their email address. With sending this traffic into an optin page, you won’t be able to retarget these customers.
